The Department of Veteran Affairs is in search of a dedicated and empathetic Geriatric Physician to become a vital member of our Geriatrics and Extended Care team. Key Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Geriatrics is required.
  • Must hold an unrestricted medical license to practice in the United States.
  • Experience in geriatric medicine or long-term care is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise and a strong commitment to providing compassionate care to elderly patients.

About Our Geriatrics and Extended Care Program:

The mission of our Geriatrics and Extended Care programs is to alleviate the impact of disability on older, frail, and chronically ill veterans and their families. We strive to maximize each patient's functional independence through a range of services that adapt to their evolving health care needs.

Our comprehensive services include Community Residential Care, VA Community Living Centers, Community Nursing Homes, and State Veteran Homes, all designed to assist veterans who require additional support to live independently. We also emphasize the importance of Geriatric Research Education and Clinical Centers to foster advancements in research, education, and clinical practice.

Our interdisciplinary services, such as Geriatric Evaluation & Management and Hospice and Palliative Care, ensure that we provide a continuum of care that is both supportive and comfort-oriented, tailored to the needs of those with advanced illnesses.
