Position Overview:
The HR Representative acts as the primary contact for employees across all levels within the organization, guiding them to appropriate HR resources for assistance.
This role provides essential administrative support to the Human Resources department, encompassing various HR-related projects and activities. Key responsibilities include new hire administration, onboarding coordination, database management, data tracking, and benefits support.
Additionally, this position will assist in projects related to employee relations, maintain employee records to ensure compliance with applicable laws, and monitor various employee-related information.
Key Responsibilities:
- Address daily employee inquiries and assist with questions regarding policies, benefits, and other HR-related matters.
- Support recruitment efforts, including internal job postings, interview scheduling, candidate sourcing, and enhancing the candidate experience.
- Coordinate temporary staffing needs as required.
- Complete internal documentation to communicate employee changes to the Payroll Department.
- Assist with bi-weekly payroll processes, including resolving timecard discrepancies.
- Manage the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all paperwork is prepared and orientations are conducted smoothly.
- Perform general administrative tasks, such as scheduling meetings, maintaining employee files, and processing invoices.
- Input data into HR systems, including ADP HR Portal and SAP.
- Organize HR training initiatives for employees.
- Handle unemployment claims as necessary.
- Administer various employee programs, including the Scholarship Program and Service Awards.
- Engage with plant employees and various departments to complete tasks efficiently.
- Participate in special projects as requested.
Qualifications:
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent and at least one year of prior HR experience.
Skills and Competencies:
- Fundamental understanding of HR principles and practices.
- Proficient in navigating online databases and HR systems.
- Strong technological skills, particularly in MS Office applications.
- Experience in handling confidential information with discretion.
- Exceptional organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Commitment to providing outstanding service to employees and vendors.
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Familiarity with employment laws at federal, state, and local levels.
