Position Summary

The Automation Test Specialist will play a crucial role in developing and implementing automated testing solutions aimed at enhancing quality and productivity within production environments. This position is part of a dynamic team focused on establishing robust workflows and standardized practices that will facilitate the scaling of future test development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement automated testing systems to boost productivity and ensure superior product quality.
  • Define and prepare comprehensive testing systems along with corresponding test plans and procedures.
  • Develop testing software using LabVIEW/TestStand tailored for use by production technicians in a manufacturing setting.
  • Collaborate with Design and Product Engineering teams to ensure clear definition of testing requirements, achieving high levels of design for testability.
  • Create production testing solutions within the Test Engineering team's modular platform.
  • Design and construct electrical and digital testing interfaces and fixtures.
  • Produce and maintain essential design documentation, including schematics and software build documentation.
  • Provide support and troubleshoot existing production testing equipment.
  • Engage regularly with INFICON's manufacturing engineering, quality engineering, and design engineering teams.
Qualifications

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Proven expertise with National Instruments hardware and programming in LabVIEW/TestStand is preferred.
  • Equivalent experience with similar platforms is required.
  • Experience with source code control systems such as GIT, Perforce, or TSVN.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Basic knowledge of SQL or similar query languages.
