Job Title: ANR HICATS Project Manager

Alaska Northstar Resources (ANR) is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our team on a long-term opportunity supporting a US government program. The successful candidate will provide daily management and project oversight to one or more projects in the HICATS portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage day-to-day activities for the team using Agile processes and participate in Agile ceremonies.
  • Manage project staffing, including interviewing, selecting, and on-boarding new team members.
  • Monitor and manage resource allocation for each project and communicate any issues in a timely manner.
  • Ensure team(s) maintains focus on quality and continuous delivery.
  • Provide visibility into delivery targets, commitments, and progress.
  • Create Roadmaps and Milestone charts for the project.
  • Be well managed - understand and coach the team on delivery controls, compliance to minimize operational, and reputational risk.
  • Understand domain architecture and targets to identify upstream and downstream dependencies and to support the team in risk management.
  • Proactively identify and resolve impediments using network of peers and formal channels (including escalation if required).
  • Integrate Agile and Lean principles into team practices and work products.
  • Coach the Product Owner and team on backlog refinement and prioritization.
  • Utilize team feedback and metrics (quality, delivery rate, etc.) to identify areas of opportunity and work with team to continuously improve.
  • Assess the current organization and delivery environment and recommend optimal Agile practices tailored to the client.
  • Innovates with practices and frameworks through experimentation to improve the team and their delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver effective communications both verbally and orally regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams.
  • Perform hands-on project work, including analysis, design and change management, as needed by the project.
Requirements:
  • Minimum Candidate Requirements:
    • Candidate must be US Citizen.
    • Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain US government Common Access Card (CAC).
    • Candidate must have ability to obtain and maintain position of Public Trust with US Government.
    • Candidate must have bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, MIS, CIS, Engineering, or another relevant field of study.
    • Candidate must have 5+ years experience with the following:
      • Managing IT projects using agile methodologies and approaches.
      • Working with IT projects using Scrum/Kanban Methodologies.
      • Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence.
      • Ability to help teams write user stories/epics, identify dependencies, and design optimal solutions.
      • Flexibility to work with teams, individuals, and executives, and possess a willingness to help with a wide variety of work products and people.
      • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
  • Preferred Skills:
    • PMP certification.
