Accounts Receivable Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our Finance team at Helen of Troy. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of accounts receivable, including collections, cash applications, and research of customer claims.
Key Responsibilities:- Contacts customers to resolve past due items, documents all correspondence, and ensures timely payment.
- Identifies, researches, and validates customer deductions, including claims and short pays.
- Generates cash batches to facilitate incoming cash receipts, verifies payment accuracy, and retrieves payment remittance information.
- Researches individual payments and deductions for accurate coding, value, and accuracy.
- Ensures accurate follow-up with internal departments, customers, and external partners.
- Processes valid claims for crediting and pursues invalid deductions for repayment.
- Provides customers with documentation to verify open balances, including electronic statements and supporting documents.
- Communicates exception issues with sales teams and reconciles accounts by reviewing aging reports.
- Works with customer service and sales departments to create outstanding account receivable items and correct errors.
- Processes checks received in-house through the Remote Deposit System.
- Provides reference information to outside companies requesting historical customer data.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred.
- 3+ years of related experience, with proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work in a high-speed and stressful environment.
- Typing speed of 40 WPM required.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
