Factory is a cutting-edge tech company seeking an experienced Technical Excellence Engineer to spearhead the development and optimization of our core platform. This role plays a pivotal part in shaping the future of our technology stack.

About the Role
  • You will lead the design, development, and refinement of the Factory platform's core services and internal systems.
  • Drive key areas including search and indexing systems, core infrastructure, integrations, authentication services, billing and organization management, and internal developer experience.
  • Enhance the developer experience by creating and refining internal tooling to streamline the engineering process, focusing on usability, efficiency, and smooth onboarding.
  • Collaborate closely with AI researchers and engineers to ensure seamless integration between AI-driven components and foundational systems.
  • Promote best practices in code quality, security, and architecture design, contributing to a culture of technical excellence and innovation.
Requirements
  • A strong technical background with a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, coupled with 3+ years of experience in full-stack engineering roles.
  • Proven experience as a software engineer, with a demonstrable ability to build complex, high-performance, and reliable systems. Experience in developing tools for software analysis or domains like compilers, runtime systems, or similar areas is highly valued.
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++), and familiarity with software engineering tools and practices (e.g., Git, CI/CD pipelines).
  • Knowledge of systems programming and understanding of working with large codebases and challenges involved in manipulating and understanding code at scale.
  • The team works from San Francisco, within walking distance to Caltrain.
