Job Title: Maintenance Worker II - Streets

Join the City of Carrollton, TX team as a Maintenance Worker II - Streets and contribute to the upkeep of our city's infrastructure.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual to perform a variety of maintenance tasks related to streets, including asphalt repair, pothole patching, and street leveling. The successful candidate will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the safe and efficient completion of tasks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform general labor duties in support of maintenance projects, including streets, concrete, and drainage projects.
  • Operate a variety of light and medium construction and maintenance equipment, such as breakers, track hoes, and compactors.
  • Install, maintain, and repair concrete, signs, grounds, and other related items.
  • Transport equipment, supplies, and other items to and from job sites.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on equipment and tools.
  • Complete logs, documents, and reports regarding work performed.
  • Observe safe work methods and use safety equipment.
Requirements:
  • Eighth grade education.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 6 months of employment.
  • One year of related maintenance and/or construction experience.
Working Conditions:
  • Frequent climbing, balancing, reaching, sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, seeing, hearing, smelling, and manual dexterity.
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of over 100 pounds.
  • Work is typically performed in an outdoor environment, with potential exposure to adverse weather conditions.
Conditions of Employment:
  • Must possess a valid motor vehicle driver license.
  • Must pass pre-employment drug test.
  • Must pass criminal history check.
  • Must pass motor vehicle records check.
