Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Sergeant Lead to join our team at BSNC. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for enforcing regulations, exercising judgment, and using discretion to maintain a safe and secure environment for our employees, visitors, and facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Enforce regulations and policies to prevent breaches of security
  • Exercise judgment and use discretion in dealing with security incidents
  • Conduct regular inspections and patrols of the facility and surrounding areas
  • Respond to alarms, emergencies, and security incidents
  • Provide security services to protect government property, materials, equipment, supplies, records, and data
  • Maintain daily reports and log entries for visitors and security incidents
  • Prepare and submit reports on security incidents, including thefts, auto accidents, and other security-related events
  • Provide emergency first aid and escorts as needed
  • Conduct quarterly exercises to test the responsiveness of the guard force and knowledge of their responsibilities in emergency situations

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years old or older
  • Have a High School Diploma or G.E.D.
  • Be a citizen of the United States
  • Have a valid state driver's license and a motor vehicle driving history report that indicates a low-risk record
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing program
  • Meet the physical requirements for the position, including passing the Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB)
  • Have basic knowledge of computerized access control and video monitoring systems
  • Be proficient with computer applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Demonstrate good judgment in normal and extreme conditions

Physical Requirements:

  • Meet and maintain a medical surveillance program requirement
  • Pass the Physical Efficiency Battery (PEB) prior to assuming security duties
  • Re-qualify on an annual basis
  • Meet the minimum standards during annual requalification

Work Environment:

  • Work in an office setting with exposure to computer screens and extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and multi-line telephone system
  • Occasional travel may be required
  • Work in outdoor settings which can cause exposure to weather, including sun, rain, snow/ice, humidity, cold, and hot temperatures

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Supervise subordinates during assigned shift
  • Uphold BSNC and CDC policies and procedures
  • Complete Daily Activity Reports, write and review incident reports, and perform other administrative duties

Additional Qualifying Factors:

  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening and random drug testing program
  • Have acceptable reference and background check results to obtain access to facility
  • Have reliable transportation to/from work
