Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Director to lead our legislative strategy and policy efforts in New York and Connecticut. As a key member of our Government Relations team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective legislative strategies to support our business goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement legislative strategies, tactics, and content to support company goals and positions at the state and local level.
  • Identify and influence proposed state and local legislative activities to ensure a positive or neutral impact on the company.
  • Plan and execute strategies and initiatives to reform regulatory and legislative policies.
  • Build and maintain relationships with state and local government officials, including members of the executive branch, state legislatures, and local municipal officials.
  • Develop and execute community advocacy strategies and initiatives, including education and partnership development.
  • Coordinate messaging on issues and legislation, and provide support for hearings, legislation, amendments, and votes in the legislature.
  • Manage stakeholder service escalations and external consultants to assist with lobbying activities.
  • Manage all state and local reporting filings with ethics agencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of high-level legislative experience with state and local government.
  • Knowledge of telecom and technology legislative policy issues.
  • Knowledge of state ethics and gift rules, Tax Law, and Public Service Law.
  • Strong leadership skills, including communications, planning, negotiations, adaptability, ethical judgment, collaboration, and crisis management.
  • No lobbying bans or restrictions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Law degree.
Work Environment

This is a hybrid role, with a defined work location that includes work from home and a minimum of eight assigned office days per month.
