Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. As a member of our Perinatal Care team, you will provide direct nursing care to maternal and infant patients, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to maternal and infant patients, including assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care.
  • Develop and update goals, involve patients and families in developing plans of care, and coordinate the interdisciplinary plan of care.
  • Administer treatments and medication, and document patient care.
  • Participate in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluation of patient/family outcomes, contribute to the improvement of care, and participate in the quality improvement process.
  • Delegate tasks/assignments, serve as a resource person/role model/mentor, pursue ongoing education and specialty certifications, and maintain applicable certification/licensure.
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Within one year of hire: completion of Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and STABLE certification.
  • Within six months of hire: completion of Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of science in nursing (BSN).
Physical Requirements

This role requires full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patient, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination. Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Requires working under stressful conditions and irregular hours. Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
