Clinical Support Specialist

Paulding County Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinic Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will provide essential support to our school nurses in delivering basic health services to students at our school-based clinics.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist school nurses in providing routine clinical services, including basic health assessments and first aid.
- Monitor and maintain accurate clinic records.
- Respond to student emergencies and notify relevant personnel in a timely manner.
- Support school nurse with student screenings and health education initiatives.
- Encourage and promote health education and wellness through best-practice clinic interventions.
- Assist with communicable disease prevention and control by maintaining accurate records and reporting cases to the Lead Nurse.
- Monitor immunization records and provide guidance on current immunization practices.
- Support students with chronic diseases and disabilities, communicating effectively with parents/guardians and related staff.
- Notify parents, guardians, and relevant school personnel in a timely manner regarding student illnesses or accidents.
- Communicate effectively with nursing supervisor, lead nurse, principal, and other staff members regarding school health issues.
- Demonstrate excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Complete assigned paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certificate required.
- Must possess First Aid and CPR Certificate.
- Health/first aid field experience, including some training and experience in pediatrics and emergency medical care.
- Training in blood-borne pathogen procedures is desirable.
Working Conditions:
- Office Environment/School Clinic.
- Constant Interruptions.
- Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person and on the telephone.
- Seeing to read a variety of materials.
- Potential exposure to infectious diseases, blood, and bodily fluids.
- Sitting for extended periods of time.
- Bending at the waist, kneeling, or crouching to file materials.
- Lifting students and lifting to 40 pounds, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling.
