Parkland Health and Hospital System (PHHS) is seeking a Clinical Documentation Specialist to join our team. As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of patient records.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology, as well as experience with coding classification systems. You will be responsible for reviewing patient records to identify areas for improvement and working with healthcare providers to clarify documentation.

This is a hybrid position, with 2 days spent on-site and 3 days working from home. You will be part of a diverse team of healthcare professionals who are passionate about delivering high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to identify areas for improvement in patient records
  • Review patient records to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Work with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure compliance with coding standards
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve documentation quality
  • Provide education and training to healthcare providers on documentation best practices

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related field
  • 2+ years of experience in a healthcare setting
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
  • Experience with coding classification systems
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
