Position Overview:
The Environmental Health Safety Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel and the environment within the organization. This position involves a variety of responsibilities aimed at identifying and mitigating risks associated with operations.
- Risk Assessment: Develops and implements strategies for evaluating and managing risks or hazards affecting personnel and the environment.
- Compliance Monitoring: Regularly inspects existing systems and processes to ensure adherence to safety regulations and identify potential hazards.
- Accident Coordination: Leads response efforts and containment measures in the event of incidents, ensuring effective management of emergencies.
- Incident Investigation: Conducts thorough investigations of accidents or environmental breaches, compiling detailed reports and recommending preventive measures.
- Training Provision: Facilitates training sessions on EHS practices, investigates incidents, and prepares comprehensive reports to minimize future occurrences.
- Research and Assessment: Evaluates the proper use and limitations of safety devices, providing recommendations for improvement.
- Support Role: Assists plant management in addressing EHS-related challenges and ensures effective communication of safety issues.
- Health Hazard Evaluation: Analyzes potential health risks from product misuse and develops engineering solutions to enhance safety.
- Follow-Up Inspections: Conducts inspections to verify that identified issues are resolved promptly and effectively.
- Documentation Maintenance: Keeps accurate records in compliance with internal and governmental standards, ensuring readiness for audits.
- Emergency Management: Conducts vulnerability assessments and develops emergency management programs in collaboration with community partners.
- Coordination with Stakeholders: Works with community organizations, partners, and insurers to align emergency management activities.
- Additional Responsibilities: Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills:
- Ability to define and communicate strategic objectives related to organizational safety.
- Experience in developing and executing security processes and programs across the organization.
- Expertise in overseeing security responsibilities, including access control and physical security measures.
Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of three years of relevant professional experience.
