POSITION SUMMARY

We are excited to present an opportunity for a Home Loan Originator (HLO) at Farmers and Merchants State Bank. In this role, you will be pivotal in sourcing new residential mortgage opportunities and fostering robust partnerships with both internal teams and external clients to enhance referral business. Your primary objective will be to engage with clients to identify the most appropriate mortgage products and terms that align with their financial goals, ensuring a smooth application journey while upholding high standards of sales and quality.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Originate a variety of home financing options, including those offered by Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, and FHA.
  • Identify and pursue tailored mortgage solutions that meet the unique needs of each client.
  • Accurately analyze and process loan documentation in a timely manner.
  • Establish and maintain a network of professional relationships to ensure a steady stream of referrals.
  • Provide continuous support to clients, processors, and underwriters throughout the mortgage process.
  • Engage in community outreach initiatives to promote business growth.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to formulate effective sales strategies and achieve business objectives.
  • Address customer inquiries and concerns with professionalism and efficiency.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate's degree in banking, finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Ability to understand and apply financial regulations effectively.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Possession of a valid driver's license, Notary public certification, and Federal NMLS registration.
  • Outstanding writing and communication skills.
  • Capability to work autonomously while maintaining a high level of professionalism.

CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSES

  • Valid driver's license, Notary public, Federal NMLS registration.

  • Standard weekday schedule with potential for occasional Saturdays and extended hours.
