Job Summary

Orlando Health is seeking a highly skilled Invasive Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our cardiovascular team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention for cardiovascular procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality patient care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
  • Assess patient's physical condition and age-specific needs.
  • Ensure patient education on procedure performed, needs, safety, and comfort.
  • Acquire patient's clinical history and document accurately.
  • Position patients, equipment, and manipulate technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Assess processed image media for technical quality and patient identification.
  • Apply principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
  • Provide physiological and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures.
  • Support physicians as a scrub assistant for cardiovascular procedures.
  • Maintain aseptic technique and appraise and evaluate actual and potential hemostasis of a vessel post-procedure.
  • Locate, use, and troubleshoot complex technical equipment/instruments.
  • Maintain customer service skills in communication with staff, visitors, and coworkers.
  • Ensure adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
  • Optimize patient care by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing case turnover time within established department standards.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiovascular Technicians, Respiratory Therapy, or Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) Certification.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
  • State licensure or certification as required by education.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and call as scheduled.
