Advanced Wound Care Nurse Practitioner

Per Diem Overview:
The key duties encompass the clinical oversight of individuals referred to the Wound and Ostomy Center for assessment and management of chronic wounds and ostomy care.
This role involves patient education, conducting diagnostic evaluations, reviewing diagnostic results, collaborating with the Medical Director and other healthcare professionals, facilitating necessary referrals, and ensuring the coordination and clinical follow-up of patients with wound and ostomy needs.
The position entails the responsibility for supervising and coordinating patient care within the Wound and Ostomy Center. It also includes contributing to the professional development of staff. The Nurse Practitioner will prescribe suitable treatments in partnership with nursing personnel and the Medical Director. Furthermore, the role involves evaluating and referring patients to surgeons, physicians, and specialists as required. Additional related responsibilities may be assigned.Essential Qualifications:
Current RN license and Nurse Practitioner certification from ANCC/AANP in Connecticut. Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) with a Master of Science in Nursing. Must possess prescriptive authority in Connecticut.
Experience in Wound Care is preferred, with CWOCN certification being advantageous. Demonstrates expertise in surgical debridement and familiarity with contemporary wound care treatment modalities and ostomy management.
