Job Summary

The Wound Care Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for the clinical management of patients referred to the Wound and Ostomy Center for evaluation and treatment of non-healing ulcers and ostomy care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide patient education on wound care and ostomy management
  • Conduct diagnostic testing and review results to inform treatment plans
  • Collaborate with Medical Director and other specialists to ensure comprehensive care
  • Facilitate referrals to surgeons, physicians, and specialists as needed
  • Coordinate and follow up on wound and ostomy patient care
  • Supervise and coordinate patient care at the Wound and Ostomy Center
  • Develop and implement staff education programs
  • Prescribe treatments in collaboration with Nursing staff and Medical Director
Requirements
  • Current CT RN license and Nurse Practitioner license
  • Certification from ANCC/AANP
  • APRN, Masters of Science in Nursing
  • Licensed for prescriptive authority in CT
  • Clinical experience in Wound Care, CWOCN preferred
  • Demonstrates proficiency in surgical debridement and experience with current wound care treatment options and ostomy care
