Work Schedule:
Full-time, 8-hour shifts, typically from 2:30 PM to 11:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough inspections, assembly, and evaluations of surgical instruments and sets to guarantee quality and completeness.
- Operate sterilization machinery and assess instruments, equipment, and containers for cleanliness and functionality.
- Perform decontamination processes for soiled instruments and sterilization containers in accordance with established protocols.
- Adjust instrument sets based on current standards and established tracking systems.
- Maintain adequate inventory levels to ensure availability for surgical procedures.
- Participate in regular quality assurance audits of peers.
- Promote the mission of the organization by embodying values such as service, reverence, integrity, wisdom, creativity, and dedication.
- Demonstrate knowledge of microbiological control and documentation practices.
- Stay informed about sterilization systems and infection control protocols.
Qualifications:
Licensure / Certification:
Must possess one or more of the following certifications prior to employment:
- Central Service Technician credential from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association.
- Central Service Technician credential from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
Education:
A high school diploma or equivalent, or at least one year of relevant experience is required.
