Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our medical team at Eye Surgery Center of Nashville. As a key member of our surgical team, you will assist in preparing and moving patients, and in cleaning the operating theater. You will also be responsible for the provision of surgical care to meet identified patient outcomes and to achieve the goals of the facility as directed by the Registered Nurse.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe patient care as directed by the Registered Nurse and according to surgery
  • Demonstrate ability to meet patient's and family's learning needs as identified in the plan of care
  • Demonstrate continued competence in treating, and caring for individuals based upon age-specific needs utilizing a developmental perspective
  • Assist with receipt and distribution of central supply, floor stock, office and stock supplies and rental equipment
  • Assist all inventory control programs in accordance with facility safety and security procedures
  • Properly process instruments and trays
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment to perform relevant cleaning functions on a variety of surfaces and finishes
  • Orient the patient and family to the patient care environment, surgery center and unit routines
  • Provide appropriate interventions related to safety issues
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support Course within 6 months of hire
  • Certified Scrub Tech or LPN
  • Preferred two years' experience as OR tech
  • Ability to efficiently and effectively assist physician with operative procedure
  • Ability to set priorities
  • Knowledge of inventory/stock procedures
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Attention to details
  • Knowledgeable of cleaning principles of both environment and equipment
  • Ability to communicate well with patients, physicians, co-workers, etc.
