Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fire Testing Technician to join our Building Products team at QAI Laboratories Inc. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing testing and evaluation of products, reviewing test reports and documentation, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire testing and evaluation of building products to ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Review and analyze test reports and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely completion of projects and budget management
  • Develop and maintain technical knowledge and expertise in fire testing and building products
  • Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues to provide technical information and support
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as engineering or materials science
  • 4+ years of experience in a structural laboratory testing environment
  • Knowledge of US and Canada building codes and referenced nationally recognized safety standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • Experience with construction materials and building code compliance practices in the US and Canada
  • Knowledge of ASTM, UL, and CSA test methods
