Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Hardware Quality Engineer to join our Operations Quality – Continuous Improvement team. This role will be responsible for ensuring product and process quality with an emphasis on Product Compliance, Customer Satisfaction, and Continuous Improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Baseline factory metrics, identify top drivers, forecast future demand for top drivers, identify areas of opportunity for improvement, and prioritize using Return on Investment (ROI) to get alignment from Program and MFG teams
  • Engage/partner with MFG Defect Prevention Teams to ensure alignment on top priorities using baseline data and future forecast to drive containment, Root Cause Analysis, associated Corrective Action Implementation, followed up verification and validation of improvements to understand effectiveness
  • Perform process walks, operator observations, and lead stakeholder discussions/action plans to drive process enhancements to reduce variation
  • Lead Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) initiatives using baseline metrics and future demand
  • Identify design supplier escapes/issues and ensure proper containment and backflow to the Supplier Quality Management team
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of experience in quality/manufacturing engineering or Advanced degree and 5 years of experience in quality/manufacturing engineering
  • Manufacturing process knowledge (assembly, inspection, test)
  • Experience in identifying root cause and initiating/implementing effective short-term and long-term corrective actions
  • Experience in development/usage of Quality metrics that may be used to drive true root cause and long-term corrective action, and in the identification/institution of perceptive verifications
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems, Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE), Six Sigma, Shainin Red X, ASQ Certifications
  • Ability to facilitate cross-functional teams in systematic improvement activities (e.g. 6-sigma, lean manufacturing)
  • Experience with Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP)/AS9145; Utilizing tools such as PPAP, Key Characteristics, DFMEA, PFMEA, and/or Control Plans
  • Experience with SAP/PRISM or other Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Tool
  • Existing US DoD Secret (or higher) clearance
