Job Summary

This is a highly skilled and experienced electrical engineer position that requires a deep understanding of low-noise electronics and precision sensors. The successful candidate will join a talented, multidisciplinary team at MKS Instruments, working on the development and release of precision vacuum pressure measurement instruments for the semiconductor, medical, and industrial equipment markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and release new vacuum sensing products that deliver market advantages in performance, cost, and size.
  • Through a deep understanding of sensors and instrumentation, identify the impediments to improved performance and develop new architectures and circuits to advance the technology.
  • Troubleshoot complex issues to root cause and support the product team in resolution.
  • Participate as a key member of multi-disciplinary product teams, with responsibility for the electronics development and release.
Requirements
  • Deep technical background in low-noise electronics and precision sensors, as well as significant experience with embedded microprocessors.
  • Extensive experience supporting multidisciplinary products.
  • Ability to logically work through challenging troubleshooting and problem-solving activities.
  • Strong product-level technical skills and some cross-discipline experience, including electronics, firmware, mechanical, and sensors.
  • Hands-on engineering skills, capable of test development, setup, and execution.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing systems and documentation control, BOM structures, and ECO processes.
  • The person must be self-motivated, have an intense customer/product focus, and work well as part of a team.
  • Experience with sensors and instrumentation, vacuum systems, or semiconductor capital equipment preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, comfortable leading technical discussions.
  • BS or higher in Engineering with 6+ years of experience, advanced degree preferred.
