Job Overview

Position Summary
The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the Quality Assurance processes to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures aimed at defect prevention, focusing on the manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the development of procedures to elevate product quality.
  • Conduct audits of the quality management system to evaluate its effectiveness.
  • Implement systematic activities to prevent quality issues.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all quality system activities.

Specific Duties

  • Test and authorize all in-process products, raw materials, and finished goods for internal use or customer shipment.
  • Ensure all programs and documentation are prepared for audits.
  • Create Master Batch and Production Filling master documents, requiring multiple signatures for approval.
  • Follow proper change control procedures for master document revisions, maintaining comprehensive records.
  • Collaborate with customer service and clients to define specifications and requirements.
  • Document all customer requirements in master records for production clarity.
  • Develop all documents and processes as part of the quality management system.
  • Assist in addressing customer complaints and conducting investigations as necessary.
  • Audit Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance.
  • Conduct facility audits to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Perform internal Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) audits.
  • Review Pest Control and Calibration service receipts for accuracy.
  • Oversee water system testing and monitoring activities.
  • Audit water system maintenance to ensure compliance with service parameters.
  • Initiate investigations for Out of Specification (OOS) and Non-Conformance issues.
  • Implement Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA) as required and ensure follow-up.
  • Complete annual product reviews.
  • Pursue continuous improvement of quality policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Management Duties

Supervise team members in accordance with organizational policies and applicable regulations, including planning, assigning, and directing work, as well as addressing concerns and resolving issues.

Qualifications

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a personal care manufacturing environment, particularly in R&D, Quality, and Regulatory roles, with a strong background in formulations and product ingredients.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry is strongly preferred.

Skills and Abilities

  • Ability to read and interpret scientific and technical documents.
  • Effective communication skills for responding to inquiries from customers and regulatory bodies.
  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and data interpretation.
  • Capability to perform mathematical calculations relevant to quality assurance.

Physical Requirements

Employees may occasionally lift and move up to 25 pounds. Regular activities include walking, sitting, using hands, and maintaining close visual acuity for data analysis and document review.
