Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Communications Manager to join our team at Acadia Pharmaceuticals Inc. This role will be responsible for overseeing and updating our corporate digital channels, including social media, and developing strategic communications plans to enhance our brand visibility and engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Digital and Social Media (60%):
    • Oversee the Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review process and monitor the progress of materials.
    • Regularly monitor corporate and broader social media landscapes, escalating significant reports as necessary.
    • Lead the development of performance reports for digital channels, providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
    • Serve as the go-to expert for digital trends, leveraging industry best practices and analytics to enhance Acadia's digital presence.
  • Corporate Communications (40%):
    • Organize and maintain corporate communication assets and materials, ensuring they are up-to-date and easily accessible within the digital asset management system.
    • Manage the corporate communications editorial calendar, ensuring it accurately reflects key milestones and supports integrated program planning.
    • Support planning and execution of various earned media workstreams, including creative and strategic input, research, content review and approval, and editing and quality management for distribution of press releases, company statements, and other external-facing content.
  • Education and Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree required; journalism or communications-related discipline preferred.
    • 5 years of experience within Communications or Marketing function with focus and experience in supporting digital platforms; biotech/pharmaceutical background is strongly preferred.
    • Combination of agency and in-house experience preferred.
  • Skills and Qualifications:
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Familiarity with major social media platforms and digital tools.
    • Self-starter, motivated, with a proven ability to find solutions and champion innovative strategies for storytelling and digital experiences that resonate with target audiences and yield measurable outcomes.
    • Thoughtful and able to recommend and encourage the adoption of new and creative approaches to enhance Acadia's brand visibility and engagement.
    • Strategic thinker with ability to develop and execute communications initiatives in an environment with rapidly evolving business imperatives.
    • Highly organized, detail-oriented with outstanding follow-through skills.
    • Experience developing and executing strategic communications plans and correlating metrics while managing competing priorities.
    • Regarded as a proven and respected communications consultant to key leaders within an organization.
    • Demonstrated business acumen and fluency in topical health care news and industry trends, as well as a deep understanding of public perception and issues as they pertain to the industry.
    • Demonstrated in-depth understanding of target audience, highly effective writing style, and expertise in high-impact messaging to broad audiences.
    • Ability to articulate complex information in simple and relatable terms.
    • Strong interest and aptitude for understanding the biopharmaceutical industry and the company, and the ability to collaborate with all personnel throughout the company, as well as external audiences.
    • Adept at working in a team environment while also displaying independence, initiative, and enterprise; ability to maintain high productivity while balancing competing priorities and tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
