Job Title: Building Envelope Inspector

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Envelope Inspector to join our team at Socotec. As a key member of our Building Envelope division, you will be responsible for conducting field reviews and progress inspections on designated projects, ensuring familiarity with building codes in local markets, and advising project managers on status, scheduling, and estimates for completion.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct field reviews and progress inspections on designated projects
  • Ensure familiarity with building codes in local markets
  • Advise project managers on status, scheduling, and estimates for completion
  • Communicate effectively with clients and job-related management teams
  • Provide cross-functional support to ensure client needs and internal timelines/project activities are completed
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 1-3 years working with building envelope design, inspection, development, and/or engineering
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Architectural, Civil, or Mechanical preferred)
  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certification preferred
  • Knowledge of broad architectural design theories/concepts and specific structural theories/concepts related to exterior wall construction
  • Experience using measurement devices
  • Minimum 10 hour OSHA certification preferred
  • ICC certifications preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Excellent PC computer skills and experience with Microsoft Word or suitable document writing programs
