Job Title: Information and Referral Coordinator

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Information and Referral Coordinator to join our team at the County of DuPage, CO. As a key member of our Community Services Department, you will play a vital role in providing information, intake, advocacy, and referral services to individuals in need.

Responsibilities:
  • Act as a lead worker to employees engaged in providing information, intake, advocacy, and referral services.
  • Organize and coordinate the information and referral process.
  • Train and guide staff on the intake and referral process and other relevant training as required.
  • Instruct staff on documentation requirements.
  • Oversee Information and Referral Specialists in prioritizing, decision-making, and scheduling needs.
  • Delegate work and answer questions from staff.
  • Approve payments up to a set dollar amount for various programs.
  • Research and gather information and obtain input from staff to maximize services and for program development.
  • Handle complex intake screenings with call-in and walk-in clients, focusing on identifying programs and services to meet their needs.
  • Assist clients with the completion of applications and related documentation required for services.
  • Compile case information and enter information into appropriate databases.
  • Inquire and conduct research to identify if new or additional types of services are available.
  • Prepare statistical reports and other required paperwork as needed.
  • Provide counseling on Health Insurance Options.
  • Lead special projects and programs throughout the year.
  • Create and conduct team-building sessions for staff.
  • Serve as a liaison with local agencies associated with ongoing programs.
  • Lead and/or attend committee meetings within the department or partnering groups and agencies.
  • Present public information material, educational workshops, and networks with service providers.
  • Maintain and update procedural manuals to ensure compliance with grants and programs.
  • Conduct reviews with intake staff responsible for Elder Abuse Reports/Ombudsmen reports.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in Information and Referral or Social Services, including acting as a lead worker.
  • Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid driver's license.
  • Must have the ability to obtain an InformUSA certification within one (1) year and maintain the certification.
