Adjunct Nursing Instructor

Muskegon Community College, a leading institution of higher education, is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Instructors in the Nursing department.
Job Summary:We are looking for dedicated and experienced nursing professionals to join our adjunct faculty pool. As an adjunct instructor, you will have the opportunity to teach and mentor students in a dynamic and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities:- Teach assigned nursing courses, including day, night, and online classes, at our main campus in Muskegon, Michigan, and extension centers in West Michigan.
- Establish and promote an effective learning environment that maximizes student learning and success.
- Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans, assessments, and evaluations that meet the needs of diverse students.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students, including office hours and appointments.
- Grading assignments in a timely and meaningful way, and assigning final grades for all students.
- Participate in departmental meetings, curriculum development, and other faculty responsibilities.
To be considered for this position, you must have:
- A Master's degree in Nursing (MSN) or a related field.
- A minimum of two years' professional experience in nursing, with clinical instruction/teaching experience preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including students with varying abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
This position requires:
- Standing and walking for extended periods.
- Sitting and reclining for periods of time.
- Lifting up to 10 pounds, and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
- Pushing, pulling, twisting, bending, and climbing or balancing.
- Working in a normal office environment with occasional exposure to wet, humid conditions, fumes, or airborne particles.
This position requires working in a variety of settings, including classrooms, clinical sites, and office environments. Ability to travel to all campus locations is required.
