Muskegon Community College is seeking qualified candidates for Adjunct Art Instructors to teach in our Art Department. As an Adjunct Art Instructor, you will be responsible for teaching assigned courses, including day, night, and online classes, as well as at the main campus and extension centers.

Responsibilities:
  • Teach assigned courses and establish an effective learning environment that maximizes student learning.
  • Prepare and submit reports related to student learning and grading assignments in a meaningful way.
  • Provide educational assistance to students during regularly scheduled office hours or by appointment.
  • Encourage student opinion survey completion and review summary information to assist with increasing student success.
  • Maintain levels of professional knowledge and expertise, including compliance training.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Art or 18 credits in the specific discipline.
  • Practical knowledge and understanding of how an Art Studio functions and operates on a daily basis.
  • Prefer teaching experience at the college level.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations representing a wide range of abilities, ages, nationalities, and cultures.
  • Experience with instructional technology preferred.
Work Environment:

The Adjunct Art Instructor will work in a normal office environment with little to no discomfort due to heat, dust, noise, and the like. Ability to travel to all campus locations is required.
