Key Responsibilities

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cyber Risk Consultant/Technical Writer to support our Mission Assurance and Operations Research Analysis (MA/ORSA) team. This role involves assisting in the identification, assessment, and management of risks impacting the secure operation of cyberspace, including various defense systems and technologies.

The successful candidate will engage in operations research analysis related to intelligence and cyberspace operations, supporting strategic planning and training exercises. This position requires a thorough analysis of operational activities to provide a solid foundation for decision-making through logical and scientific methodologies.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Creating visual aids and diagrams to enhance metrics analysis and problem-solving efforts, along with providing recommendations for analytical solutions.
  • Generating Trend Analysis Reports and other essential documents in collaboration with the ORSA team.
  • Documenting and validating identified vulnerabilities for operational purposes.
  • Aggregating and defining risk across the operational spectrum.
  • Preparing materials for operational events that incorporate various operational variables to assess overall risk to critical missions.
  • Producing high-quality documentation, presentations, and findings for senior government officials.
Qualifications

Required:
  • A minimum of 12 years of experience with a BS/BA; or 10 years with an MS/MA. Consideration will be given to candidates with a high school diploma and 16 years of relevant experience.
  • Proven experience in writing analytical studies that address senior leadership inquiries, providing insights, risks, and options for decision-making.
  • At least five years of experience as an Operations Planner in cyberspace operations, supporting various operational planning and analysis activities.
  • Strong technical writing skills, capable of producing briefings and visual aids to support operational planning.
  • Experience in reviewing strategies and policies to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • A comprehensive understanding of Defensive Cyberspace Operations.
  • Proficiency in government and corporate communication tools, including MS Office and task management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Willingness to work shifts as required.
  • U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
  • Active DOD TS/SCI Clearance is required.
Preferred:
  • Relevant certifications such as DoD IAT II or higher (e.g., SSCP, CCNA-Security, GSEC, Security+ CE).
  • Experience in developing complex dashboards and automated reporting in tools like Splunk, ArcSight, or Elastic/Kibana.

Salary Range

$135,000 - $216,000, reflecting the typical compensation for this role based on experience and qualifications.
