Research and Development Tax Credit Manager
We are seeking a highly skilled Research and Development Tax Credit Manager to join our team at Moss Adams LLP. As a key member of our Tax Specialty Group, you will be responsible for assisting clients in identifying and quantifying federal and state research tax credits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in planning and running engagements to identify and quantify research tax credits
- Schedule and conduct informational gathering interviews with clients to gather necessary documentation
- Obtain and organize documentation obtained from the clients to support tax credit claims
- Assist in the identification and management of R&D Tax Credit engagements
- Perform tax research to support tax credit claims
- Draft technical reports and correspondence to support tax credit claims
- Assist with taxing authority audit defense
- Mentor staff and seniors in tax credit research and analysis
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Construction Management, or Engineering
- Advanced degree preferred (e.g. MST, JD, or LL.M)
- CPA, JD, or LLM Taxation preferred
- Minimum of 4 years of related experience in R&D tax credits or tax compliance
- Experience training and supervising staff and seniors
- Excellent client service skills - internal and external
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Strong research ability
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Ability to handle multiple priorities, tasks, and simultaneous projects
- Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook)
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 20%
