Core Responsibilities

The Patient Care Assistant will:

  • Support patient care activities under the supervision of nursing staff.
  • Assist patients with personal care, daily living activities, and safe transfers.
  • Communicate any changes in patients' physical, mental, or emotional conditions to the nursing team.
  • Help maintain cleanliness and organization in patient rooms.
Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Must obtain BLS Provider certification within 30 days of hire or transfer. Acceptable certifications include those from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Must have Nurse Aide certification from the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry prior to hire or transfer. This certification does not expire for hospital settings.

Education:

  • Current enrollment in high school and eligibility in the Youth Apprenticeship program as per school requirements is necessary.

Experience:

  • No prior experience is required; however, experience in a related field is preferred.
