Job Description

Brown Edwards is seeking highly motivated accounting majors to join our team as Tax Season Interns. As a Tax Season Intern, you will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced accounting professionals and gain hands-on experience in public accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with tax preparation and documentation
  • Review and validate tax documents
  • Prepare basic tax returns
  • Import data from client files to our workpaper files
  • Learn to use accounting and tax software
  • Develop an understanding of internal CPA practices

Requirements:
  • Accounting majors who intend to begin their careers in public accounting
  • Students in their junior or senior years, with at least one section of Intermediate accounting already successfully passed
  • GPA's of 3.0 and higher
  • Availability of 15-20 hours per week during the spring semester is preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with deadlines, multi-task, and possess critical thinking skills
  • Aspiring to obtain CPA certification
  • Willingness and desire to learn more about public accounting
  • Attributes that demonstrate initiative, career-oriented intensity, above average Excel/IT skills, and professionalism will be significant factors in our selection of candidates
