Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grants Accountant to join our team at the Commonwealth of Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the financial aspects of grants, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial data, and providing financial assistance to programmatic personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze financial data to ensure compliance with grant requirements
  • Prepare and review financial reports, budgets, and reconciliations
  • Provide financial assistance and coordination to programmatic personnel
  • Attend grant review and programming meetings
  • Present financial updates and reports to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Intermediate technical skills in Excel, Word, Outlook, and accounting information systems
  • Critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to perform complex data entry and reconcile departmental and budgetary accounts
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work calmly under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in grants management and budgeting
  • Knowledge of accounting rules, standards, and procedures
  • Experience working in an accounting office and performing accounting transactions
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices (GAAP)
