Job Title: Part-time or PRN Hospice Aide

We are a Christian hospice dedicated to providing exceptional clinical care and the love and salvation of Jesus Christ. Our team is committed to delivering high-quality care to individuals in need, and we are seeking a compassionate and skilled Hospice Aide to join our team.

Job Summary:

As a Hospice Aide, you will work under the supervision of a registered nurse to provide care and support to patients in their homes. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing personal care needs, such as bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance
  • Assisting with ambulation, transfer, and positioning of patients
  • Observing and reporting patient conditions and requests
  • Documenting patient care and observations
  • Providing positive communication and respectful care to patients and their families
Responsibilities:

Our Hospice Aide will be responsible for:

  • Representing Empyrean Hospice with professionalism and compassion
  • Serving as a member of the patient's clinical care team
  • Promoting quality, continuity, and safety in patient care
  • Performing personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and feeding assistance
  • Assisting with ambulation, transfer, and positioning of patients
  • Observing and reporting patient conditions and requests
  • Documenting patient care and observations
  • Providing positive communication and respectful care to patients and their families
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Professionalism, compassion, empathy, and a desire to help others
  • Self-directing skills with the ability to work with little direct supervision
  • Understanding of the philosophy of hospice and comfort with issues of death and dying
  • Good verbal and written communication, and organization skills
  • Satisfactory references from previous employers
  • Maintains current CPR certification
  • Able to lift, position, and/or transfer patients, and lift supplies and equipment
  • Meets the training requirements of the State
  • Completed a minimum of 75 hours of classroom and supervised practical training
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
