The Chief Compliance and Privacy Officer will oversee the planning, implementation, monitoring, and operation of the Augusta Health Compliance Program. This role requires a strong understanding of positive ethical and moral principles and the legal obligations related to the organization's operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential compliance issues.
  • Provide training and education to employees on compliance policies and procedures.
  • Investigate and resolve compliance-related issues and incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Operating Officer and other senior leaders to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Four-year undergraduate degree in a related field.
  • Maintain or obtain compliance officer certification from a nationally recognized compliance association within 24 months of commencing job.
  • At least five years' experience in healthcare management or administration.
  • Previous health care compliance experience.
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or equivalent preferred.
  • Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) or equivalent preferred.
  • Certified in Healthcare Research Compliance (CHRC) or equivalent preferred.
Skills
  • Ability to lead, guide, and direct the organization-wide Compliance Program.
  • Effective interpersonal/communications skills with peers, staff, legal counsel, and physicians.
  • Clear, concise, and effective writing skills, including the ability to draft effective reports, business correspondence, and policies/procedures.
  • Ability to work well both independently and with others within the organization's established structure.
  • Ability to represent Augusta Health and its Compliance Program effectively, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make modifications to compliance-related policies, procedures and activities to meet the needs of the organization to maintain an effective compliance program.
  • Ability to recognize the need for and execute compliance activities and tasks, including the incorporation of quality control procedures, on an ongoing basis.
  • Working knowledge of laws and issues affecting the health care industry, including the consequences of non-compliance.
  • Demonstration of strong-self initiative and self-motivation.
  • Demonstration of high degree of credibility, integrity, confidentiality and trust.
  • Strong persuasion/influencing skills and perseverance in the investigation of compliance issues.
  • Ability to interact well with regulators.
  • Ability to act decisively and make good judgments under pressure.
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
  • Effective presentation style.
