Electrical Power Systems Engineer

At Blue Origin, we're pushing the boundaries of space exploration and development. As an Electrical Power Systems Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and developing the electrical power subsystems for our innovative space vehicles.

This position is part of the Space Systems Development (SSD) business unit, which focuses on developing next-generation concepts and systems to advance our future of living and working in space sustainably.

As a key member of our team, you'll contribute to the design and development of electrical power subsystem components, including spacecraft batteries, solar arrays, power distribution, and conversion. You'll also develop and maintain component requirements and documentation, conduct thorough electrical module analyses, and troubleshoot complex issues with the vehicle electrical power system components.

We're looking for someone with a strong background in electrical engineering, specifically in space power systems. You'll have a proven track record of working in cross-disciplinary engineering teams and excellent communication and teamwork skills. Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the design and development of electrical power subsystem components
  • Develop and maintain component requirements and documentation
  • Conduct thorough electrical module analyses

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field
  • Minimum of two years of experience in electrical engineering, specifically in space power systems
  • Proven experience with one or more of the following: batteries, solar arrays, power distribution, power conversion
  • Strong background in electrical analysis techniques
  • Experience working in cross-disciplinary engineering teams
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in system-level and circuit-level modeling and simulation
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills in complex electrical power systems
  • Strong familiarity with system and component grounding architectures and methods
