Responsibilities of the Senior Accountant include, but are not limited to:

  • Gather and evaluate financial information for liability, asset, and capital accounts
  • Generate financial statements, including profit and loss reports
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations
  • Offer support to junior team members and oversee financial reporting
  • Assist in month-end closing activities by preparing necessary journal entries and reviewing inventory assessments
  • Contribute to organization-wide budgeting reports and engage in the budgeting process
  • Maintain product cost metrics such as Standard Costs and Actual Costs, ensuring manufacturing cost margins are achieved
  • Examine actual manufacturing expenses and create reports comparing standard and actual costs

Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of comprehensive accounting experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems such as Oracle NetSuite
  • In-depth knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and accounting practices
