Our client, a prominent entity in the healthcare supplies and solutions sector, is in search of a proficient Lead Revenue Accounting Specialist to manage revenue recognition activities and ensure adherence to ASC 606 standards. This position is crucial in overseeing revenue accounting for substantial volumes of client contracts across diverse channels, amounting to over $20 billion in net sales.

The Lead Revenue Accounting Specialist role presents an opportunity to make a significant impact within a progressive organization that prioritizes professional advancement and development. The compensation for this position is competitive, with a base salary reaching up to $110,000 along with an attractive bonus structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive reviews and analyses of client contracts to guarantee compliance with ASC 606
  • Evaluate contract terms for accurate revenue recognition and general ledger account allocation
  • Spearhead initiatives aimed at refining contract revenue accounting processes
  • Establish internal controls and utilize system capabilities for precise revenue recognition
  • Collaborate closely with sales and contracting teams to assess client contracts
  • Provide insights on revenue recognition implications and suggest adjustments to contract terms and language
  • Analyze and account for revenue effects of new contract arrangements
  • Ensure accurate documentation of contract elements and compliance with all contractual obligations
  • Proactively identify and rectify errors to avert revenue loss
  • Monitor Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) fees and ensure precise revenue documentation
  • Assist in audits by offering thorough scope and review of agreements and contracts
  • Manage rebates affecting revenue and ensure compliance with audit standards
  • Develop and implement robust internal controls to protect revenue recognition processes
  • Continuously enhance processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in revenue accounting, preferably within the healthcare sector
  • Comprehensive understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition principles
  • Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical capabilities with the ability to interpret complex financial data
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
  • Detail-oriented with robust problem-solving abilities
  • Proactive and capable of working efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy
  • Team-oriented with a commitment to fostering a collaborative work culture
