Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain effective communication with the Production Manager, Assistant Manager, and Production Supervisor to ensure safe and efficient departmental operations.
  • Understand and implement our HACCP plan along with other relevant Food Safety protocols.
  • Execute daily production schedules to ensure timely processing of orders.
  • Ensure that all cutters are well-versed in our Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to Food Safety and other operational guidelines.
  • Communicate production capacities to management and adjust orders accordingly.
  • Support cutting staff by providing necessary resources and assistance during production.
  • Assume the responsibilities of the Production Supervisor in their absence.
  • Collaborate with management on the development of new products.
  • Conduct daily meetings with cutters to outline production plans and share important safety and company updates.
  • Oversee the training and skill development of new team members.
  • Manage the daily workload of Meat Cutters and discuss production yields.
  • Assess staff performance based on production volume and make adjustments as needed.
  • Continuously evaluate departmental efficiency and work with management to implement improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with all HACCP regulations to maintain processing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading and writing English and capable of performing basic mathematical calculations.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in meat cutting.
  • Ability to work independently and without supervision.
  • Adaptability to changing priorities and needs.
  • Comprehension of work orders for proper packaging and labeling.
  • Strong observational skills to identify quality issues and production challenges.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or team lead role.
  • Advanced knife skills and familiarity with equipment such as band saws, cubing machines, meat slicers, tenderizers, banding machines, portion scales, pallet jacks, and label printers.

Compensation:

  • Hourly wage ranging from $26.00 to $29.00.

The physical demands outlined below are representative of those that must be met by a Production Cutter Team Lead to successfully perform essential job functions. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities.

  • Ability to stand, walk, twist, stoop, bend, kneel, sit, and squat.
  • Capability to use hands for picking, handling, feeling, and reaching; pulling and pushing trays and boxes.
  • Effective communication skills, including talking and hearing.
  • Normal vision with or without correction, with the ability to distinguish colors.
  • Fluent speech and writing skills in English necessary for job functions.
  • Able to read and understand work-related materials and numerical data.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 70 pounds using proper techniques.
  • Ability to stand and walk throughout the workday, except during scheduled breaks.
  • Willingness to work in a refrigerated environment at temperatures between 38-42°F.
