Vehicle Service Consultant

Lexus of Nashville is seeking to enhance its workforce with a dedicated Service Consultant. This role is pivotal in driving vehicle repair service sales and acting as the primary point of contact between customers and the dealership regarding all service-related activities.

Key Responsibilities
- Promote appropriate repairs and services based on customer needs.
- Verify warranty and service contract details by reviewing documentation and explaining coverage.
- Coordinate service appointments, gathering customer and vehicle information in advance when feasible.
- Communicate any issues or concerns to service technicians for further evaluation.
- Prepare repair orders by documenting symptoms, issues, and necessary repairs; securing customer approvals and entering data into the service management system.
- Review service history and suggest additional maintenance as needed.
- Advise customers on vehicle care and the importance of adhering to manufacturer maintenance guidelines.
- Assign repair orders to technicians, ensuring optimal service delivery and efficiency.
- Monitor repair progress throughout the day, updating customers on any changes to estimates or timelines, and obtaining necessary authorizations for additional work.
- Review completed repair orders to confirm all work is finished and that any additional tasks are documented. Close repair orders as necessary.
- Explain completed services and associated costs to customers.
- Maintain high standards of customer satisfaction.
- Organize work orders with the team to maximize productivity and customer satisfaction.
- Uphold a professional appearance at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum age of 19 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic understanding of automotive mechanics.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to effectively address customer inquiries.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in computer use; experience with Reynolds and Reynolds is advantageous.
- Team-oriented with a commitment to customer satisfaction.
- Energetic and friendly demeanor with a willingness to exceed expectations.
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- All candidates must be able to pass pre-employment assessments, including background checks, motor vehicle records, drug testing, credit history, and possess a valid driver's license.
