Job Title: Skilled Nursing Medical Records Coordinator

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Skilled Nursing Medical Records Coordinator to join our team at East Ridge Retirement Village.

Job Summary:

The Skilled Nursing Medical Records Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Senior Director of Health Services and Skilled Nursing Team by assisting with departmental daily functions and projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative duties such as filing, typing, copying, binding, and scanning.
  • Develop and maintain a filing system.
  • Responsible for inquiries and office communications.
  • Input work orders and follow-up as needed.
  • Submit and reconcile expenses and expense reports.
  • Create and process purchase orders as needed.
  • Prepare and coordinate all medical record forms for residents upon admission.
  • Upload all resident documents into resident's medical record.
  • Complete resident chart audits and notify appropriate staff to complete or correct records as needed.
  • Answer requests for release of medical information in a timely manner and audit records after releasing documents in response to a subpoena.
  • Maintain chart after obtaining all necessary completed forms, according to facility policies and procedures.
  • Receive returned doctor's discharge summary, log discharge diagnosis in discharge summary in resident's chart.
  • Complete and review medical records on open and closed charts for Quality Assurance Program.
  • Retrieve medical records promptly upon request.
  • Order and monitor all resident and nursing supplies and maintain accurate inventory on each item.
  • Maintain records of ordered supplies and purchase orders.
  • Keep the stock room in an orderly fashion. Unpack the shelves and deliver supplies in a timely manner.
  • Responsible for entering billing charges of all resident supplies.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • Previous central supply and/or medical record experience preferred.
  • Computer literate, ability to work with Excel, and Word and other software.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs. frequently, and 50 lbs. occasionally.
