- Explain procedures and answer questions.
- Assist in patient discharge and provide discharge instructions.

- Monitor and provide for patients' recovery.
- Provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served.
- Promote a positive image and concern for patient welfare.
- Anticipate the needs of physicians.
- Administer IV medications.
- Follow cardiac/respiratory arrest guidelines.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment.
- Respect patients' privacy and confidentiality.
- Maintain supplies and medications under the direction of the Clinical Director.
- Accurately collect and process specimens.
- Assist with preparation and performance of surgical procedures.
- Assist in maintenance of records and quality assurance studies.

- Maintain current surgical knowledge through education and networking.
- Maintain patient safety and protection from injury.
- Report any unusual occurrences or incidents to the Clinical Director.
- Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of sterilization and cleaning techniques.
- Verify equipment maintenance and safety.
- Communicate and coordinate procedure scheduling.
- Provide billing information.
- Supervise clinical activities of technicians and non-licensed personnel.
- Participate in orientation training and teaching.
- Participate in committees as required.
- Demonstrate professional accountability.
- Licensed Practice Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current state license to practice as a Licensed Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS (CPR) certification required.
- Current ACLS certification required.
- 2 years or recent nursing experience, GI and/or critical care experience preferred.
- Nursing skills applicable to the Georgia Nursing Practice Act, strong technical and organizational skills.
- Ability to stand, reach, assist to transfer up to 50 pounds; ability to stand and/or walk 80-90% of an 8-hour day; visual and hearing acuity to perform job-related functions.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and organizational skills that are consistent, efficient, and accurate.
- Knowledge of the nursing process, pharmacology, and physiological system review required.
- A mastery of intravenous puncture required.
- Initiative, reliability, and flexibility as well as a commitment to a high standard of performance.
- Must be willing to travel to Griffin and Stockbridge as needed.
