Role Summary
The Culinary Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing production leads and support staff, managing all facets of kitchen operations, including digital documentation, daily workflow, and ensuring that production targets are met. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of both kitchen production and packaging processes, with the ability to supervise operations in both areas. The supervisor will play a crucial role in the recruitment, training, and development of production personnel, while maintaining clear communication with the Plant Manager/Director of Operations to achieve operational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and adjust monthly production plans to align with business needs.
- Provide dosing recommendations for production and seek necessary approvals.
- Guide production staff in planning, assigning, and directing their work.
- Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures through ongoing training.
- Manage team scheduling and daily task delegation.
- Conduct employee performance reviews in accordance with company policies.
- Provide regular coaching to reinforce positive performance and address areas for improvement.
- Oversee daily production activities and assist in planning schedules to meet production goals.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, ensuring compliance with safety and sanitation protocols.
- Collaborate with management in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures.
- Monitor inventory levels of production supplies and ensure accurate reporting.
- Uphold high-quality standards through continuous quality assurance checks during production.
- Evaluate operational performance and recommend procedural improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and state regulations.
- Manage the proper storage of consumables and products, adhering to safety practices.
- Assist in training production support staff on compliance and operational procedures.
- Communicate any quality or safety issues to management promptly.
- Support the Plant Manager/Director of Operations as needed.
- Participate in packaging tasks as required.
- Adapt to other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a production or manufacturing setting, preferably in food or beverage.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Exceptional attention to detail and at least 1 year of supervisory experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Must obtain all necessary state permits and certifications.
- ServSafe Food Handlers Card is preferred.
- Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Basic mathematical skills are required.
Compensation
The salary for this position ranges from $67,500 to $77,500 annually, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid holidays, PTO, 401K, and fully covered health, dental, and vision insurance.
