The Clinical Rehabilitation Specialist is responsible for assessing and treating patients referred by physicians to optimize their functional capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conducts comprehensive evaluations and implements treatment plans for patients.
  • Maintains accurate documentation of patient assessments, care plans, and treatment progress in Medical Records, including Medicare recertifications and discharge planning.
  • Oversees the training of PT and PTA students and observers as required.
  • Contributes to the development and execution of departmental initiatives.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:

Must be capable of sitting for extended periods, tolerating standing for consecutive durations, and utilizing hands/fingers for equipment operation. The role requires the ability to lift or move patients weighing up to 200 lbs, as well as push or pull patients of similar weight. Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder height are necessary. Sensory capabilities must include tactile sensation for assessing muscle conditions, as well as auditory and visual acuity for effective communication and observation.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

A Doctoral Degree, Master's, or Bachelor's degree from an accredited physical therapy program or a physical therapy certification is required. Current CPR certification is also necessary.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Completion of all required clinical affiliations is essential.
