Your Role in Making a Difference

As a Medical Director, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with company and institutional regulations, while meticulously documenting medical services for the Regional or Corporate Medical Director. This role involves continuous monitoring of service delivery and adherence to contractual obligations. Your dedication to transparency will be evident as you promptly inform the Regional or Corporate Medical Director and Health Services Administrator of any scheduling changes, ensuring uninterrupted medical service coverage during absences, reflecting your commitment to high-quality healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional environment, including patient examinations, daily infirmary rounds, and ensuring accurate documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or approved formats.
  • Exhibit clinical proficiency by managing emergencies, overseeing healthcare staff, and collaborating with medical specialists to ensure high standards of care in accordance with established policies.
  • Work alongside the Health Services Administrator to enhance patient outcomes through ongoing quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics and coordination with community healthcare providers.
  • Actively participate in the review and approval of treatment protocols, clinical policies, and emergency plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide clinical oversight, engage in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and offer recommendations to improve patient care and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must hold and maintain current licensure in the state of employment.
  • Must possess a valid DEA number.
  • CPR certification is required.
  • Must maintain privileges and fulfill CME requirements for ongoing medical practice in the state.
