Your Role in Making a Difference

As a Medical Director, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with organizational and regulatory standards while meticulously documenting medical services for oversight by the Regional or Corporate Medical Director. Your proactive communication will ensure that any scheduling changes are promptly reported, maintaining uninterrupted medical service delivery even during extended absences, showcasing your commitment to excellence in healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional setting, including patient evaluations, daily visits to the infirmary, and maintaining accurate, problem-focused documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or designated formats.
  • Exhibit clinical proficiency by managing emergencies, overseeing healthcare staff, and collaborating with medical specialists to ensure high-quality care in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Work closely with the Health Services Administrator to enhance patient outcomes through ongoing quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics and coordination with community healthcare providers.
  • Engage in the review and approval of treatment protocols, clinical policies, and emergency plans, ensuring adherence to industry standards and organizational policies.
  • Provide clinical oversight, participate in quality improvement committees, and offer recommendations to enhance patient care and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must possess and maintain current licensure in the state of practice.
  • Current DEA registration required.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
  • Must uphold privileges and complete Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for ongoing medical practice in the state.
