Your Role in Making a Difference

As a Medical Director, you will be instrumental in ensuring compliance with both company and institutional regulations, while meticulously documenting medical services for the Regional or Corporate Medical Director. Your proactive approach will facilitate ongoing oversight of service delivery and adherence to contractual obligations. You will also be responsible for promptly informing the Regional or Corporate Medical Director and Health Services Administrator of any schedule changes, ensuring uninterrupted medical service coverage even during extended absences, showcasing your commitment to delivering high-quality healthcare.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional setting, including patient examinations, daily infirmary rounds, and ensuring accurate, problem-focused documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or on approved forms.
  • Exhibit clinical expertise by managing emergencies, supervising healthcare staff, and consulting with medical specialists to ensure high-quality care while adhering to established protocols.
  • Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to enhance patient outcomes through ongoing quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics and pharmacy service oversight.
  • Actively participate in the review and approval of treatment protocols, clinical policies, and emergency plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide clinical oversight, engage in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and recommend strategies to improve patient care and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements

Education:

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school.

Experience:

  • Preferred experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Must hold and maintain current licensure in the state of employment.
  • Must maintain a current DEA registration.
  • Must be able to obtain and sustain CPR certification.
  • Must maintain privileges and fulfill CME requirements for ongoing medical practice in the state.
