Job Summary:

The Executive Chef is responsible for overseeing the food preparation and presentation for patient/resident, retail, and catering services. This role requires leadership and management skills to ensure that all food production activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction and guidance to the Retail Services team, Food and Nutrition/Dining Services Management Team, and Regional Directors of Operations.
  • Maintain professional behavior and composure in difficult interpersonal situations.
  • Develop and implement customer service improvement initiatives and suggest new methods to enhance service.
  • Complete all required reports in a timely manner and present information in a neat and professional format.
  • Monitor training programs to ensure compliance and completion within given time frames.
  • Follow Universal Precautions/Infection Control Procedures and maintain confidentiality of patient/resident information.
  • Assume department responsibility in the absence of the director.
  • Develop and coach department associates to ensure fullest potential is reached.
  • Promote and drive departmental TQM/Customer Service initiatives.
  • Ensure that all ABM Healthcare production systems are in place and implement and maintain department policies and procedures.
  • Direct staff on the proper use of all supplies/equipment within the kitchen.
  • Conduct regular department meetings and ensure that all opened/leftover food is stored properly.
  • Develop and prepare menus for special events and celebrations.
  • Assist with production for all catered functions.

Requirements:

  • Associate Degree in Culinary Arts or related field.
  • Manager-level experience in food service operations.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Ability to develop and implement customer service improvement initiatives.

Working Conditions:

The Executive Chef will work in a fast-paced kitchen environment with frequent exposure to heat, noise, and chemicals. The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods is required.
