Position Summary

Under general supervision, this role is responsible for managing communications, maintaining records, and overseeing administrative tasks within a dedicated patient care unit.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Minimum of six months of general office experience; prior experience in a healthcare or service-oriented environment is preferred.

Skills and Competencies

  • Proficient in clerical tasks such as filing, photocopying, and basic typing skills.
  • Competent in utilizing computer systems to access and manage patient information.
  • Exhibits professional phone etiquette.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, and perform effectively under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Maintains a professional and customer-focused appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Ensures confidentiality of all patient information (verbal, written, electronic).
Commitment to Patient Safety
  • Actively participates in patient safety initiatives within the hospital and department.
  • Takes proactive measures to address identified risks to patient safety.
  • Reports any adverse events or near misses to the appropriate management.
  • Identifies potential risks in processes and communicates these to relevant personnel.
