Job Title: Risk Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential risks to patient safety and security.
  • Investigate, determine, and report all incidents according to regulatory policies and guidelines.
  • Assess liability and financial risks to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Report on ongoing investigations to senior management and corporate team members.
  • Implement mitigation strategies, assess their effectiveness, and make revisions accordingly.
  • Educate and counsel staff on risk management best practices.
  • Initiate and direct all investigations and notifications to regulatory authorities.
  • Issue timely reports to regulatory agencies and authorities.
  • Represent the organization at audits, inspections, and investigations by governing authorities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Business Administration (Master's degree preferred but not mandatory).
  • At least 5 years of operations and clinical experience in healthcare, including quality assurance and risk management.
  • Prior experience in a Risk Management role in healthcare (ALF or SNFs).
  • CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) or CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) a plus.
  • At least 2 years of working experience in Assisted Living facilities.
  • Good understanding of regulatory compliance laws and policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission.
  • Experience with assessing risks and financial liability.
  • Experience with writing and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams, counseling and educating on risk mitigation.
