Key Responsibilities:- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential risks to patient safety and security.
- Investigate, determine, and report all incidents according to regulatory policies and guidelines.
- Assess liability and financial risks to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Report on ongoing investigations to senior management and corporate team members.
- Implement mitigation strategies, assess their effectiveness, and make revisions accordingly.
- Educate and counsel staff on risk management best practices.
- Initiate and direct all investigations and notifications to regulatory authorities.
- Issue timely reports to regulatory agencies and authorities.
- Represent the organization at audits, inspections, and investigations by governing authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare, or Business Administration (Master's degree preferred but not mandatory).
- At least 5 years of operations and clinical experience in healthcare, including quality assurance and risk management.
- Prior experience in a Risk Management role in healthcare (ALF or SNFs).
- CPHRM (Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management) or CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) a plus.
- At least 2 years of working experience in Assisted Living facilities.
- Good understanding of regulatory compliance laws and policies, including OSHA, HIPAA, and Joint Commission.
- Experience with assessing risks and financial liability.
- Experience with writing and implementing policies and procedures.
- Ability to work with interdisciplinary teams, counseling and educating on risk mitigation.
